Lessons learned after joining a company in "pre-launch"

Well after joining what was supposed to be the next best thing since Mary Kay, I decided to opt out of bamboopink. I found that the company was very unorganized, there were many issues with communications, too many people holding conference calls and giving out false information, constant changes with forms that were in the back office, compensation plan, policies ect. Kind of just a mess if you ask me. I got fed up after hearing not one, not two, but several conference calls even by "corporate trainers" that had giving out information that was unconfirmed by the company, and therefore you had the company issuing statements and apologies saying they were "sorry for the misunderstanding". Interesting. What about the fact that the privacy policy bamboopink has states this:

"We additionally share, trade, rent, license, and/or sell this information to third parties that we believe offer products, services, and/or opportunities that are consistent with your desire to be financially secure and/or independent. Note that if you voluntarily provide us with Personally Identifiable Information, you consent to our sales, trade, rent, license, use, and storage of the information."

I personally emailed bamboopink on the privacy policy, and they said they don't sell our information, but it makes me wonder why they have yet to change there privacy policy? They changed a lot of other forms multiple times, so what's the hold up? If it's not true, than don't have it in your policy!

So I have come to the conclusion that I will not join any companies in the future that just came out overnight or are in the "pre-launch" or "ground floor" stages, even if they are backed by celebrities or whomever. Right now with the economy the way it is, I think it's a little irrational to invest time or money into the unknown. I didn't know what I was getting into really, and even though it was free to sign up, I didn't lose any money so to speak, but I sure wasted a lot of time.

Don't let this happen to you! Do your due-diligence and research the companies you are with, see the price points, the compensation plans, the privacy policy, what you are selling, what the products are made of, who are you marketing too, who are the people running the company, do they ship on-time, do they deliver as promised? Do everything you can to make sure you are not jumping in over your head. This company was not for me. Some of you may still be taking the leap of faith and continuing on your journey and for those that are I wish you well, and I hope for your sake it will be worth your time and money invested.
